Abstract: The geographical and geological features of Inishturk are described. A survey of the flora of this island found the maritime species to occupy 'cliff and sward'. Previous botanical surveys of the island are reviewed. The species found in the current survey are listed with note of abundance; rare species are noted. The flora of Inishturk is compared to that of the other islands in the area; Inishbofin, Clare Island, Achill Island, and the Mullet. The flora of Inishturk was found to have 24 more species than that of its neighbouring and larger island, Inishbofin. Inishturk possessed 25 species which were neither found on Inishbofin to the south, nor on Clare Island to the north.
