Abstract: In this first known survey of the marine algae of Lambay Island over 200 species were found including 20 species new to Ireland. The Lambay Island flora was closely related to the flora of the Clyde Sea area and the Isle of Man. With a further summer and autumn survey the author expects the flora of Lambay to be as rich as the flora found in those areas. A list of the species is presented.
