Abstract: Further to the 1880 exploration of the flora of the Blasket Islands by R.M. Barrington (P.R.I.A. (1881) (2) iii., pp. 368-391), Praeger revisited the Blaskets. On this occasion, the small low and flat island, Beginish, was also included in the survey. In contrast to Beginish, the Great Blasket is steep sloped and exposed, offering little shelter and moisture for plant growth and habitation. Praeger found 46 additions to Barrington's list, including a number of maritime species.
