Abstract: The first record of the nudibranch Adalaria proxima in Irish waters is noted. The specimen, which was dredged from the Malahide River, Co. Dublin, was first thought to be Doris aspera and then on closer inspection to be Doris proxima. This species was subsequently considered worthy of its own genus and became Adalaria proxima.
