Abstract: Notes are presented on the capture of the Long-finned Bream Brama longipinnis, a species new to Irish waters, with previous records from Madeira. This specimen was captured off the west coast of Valencia Island. Another of the Brama genus, Ray's Bream (Brama raii), was also recorded in Irish waters, and is equally rare. A photographic plate and descriptive detail of the specimen is included.
