Abstract: A list of marine algae collected from Co. Cork shores and coastal waters. Two species were noted as new to Co. Cork flora. The first was Calithamnion arbuscula, a boreal algae also found in the Clare Island district. On this occasion C. arbuscula was abundant at the Old Head of Kinsale on the perpendicular and horizontal rock faces, a little below the high water mark. Ptilota plumosa, the second species of note, was found with its host Laminaria cloustoni washed ashore on Garretstown Strand. It was thought to come from the deeper waters in the Bay where it was abundant. A list of the rare species found during this survey is presented with date and place of collection.
