Abstract: A new record for the east coast of the pectinarid annelid Pectinaria koreni is noted. Two specimens of P. koreni were collected on two separate occasions from the shore between Merrion and Booterstown in Dublin Bay. One specimen was transferred from captivity in sea water to freshwater; a method of killing the specimen for further examination. The specimen did not die and its tolerance of both freshwater and saline water was observed. Pectinaria koreni has also been recorded from Blacksod Bay, Co. Mayo and Ballynakill Harbour, Co. Galway.
