Abstract: This short note records the occurrence of the Portuguese Man-of-War in August 1881 at Castlerock, Co. Derry, where it had been washed up on the strand. The author also found Ianthina at the same time and place. Velella are also mentioned from Castlerock, as well as Portnoo, Co. Donegal and Coolmore.
