Abstract: This note records and describes the vermiform rectal parasitic copepod Trochicola entericus from Gibbula cineria specimens collected at Barna, Co. Galway, throughout 1994. Twenty-seven specimens, both males and females, were found. This is the first record of T. entericus from the British Isles.
