Abstract: A short zoological note on the nudibranch Cuthona genovae recently found in Irish waters. Until 1980 it was unknown in Irish waters and all earlier known records were from the Mediterranean Sea. This note records specimens from North Water, Mulroy Bay, extending the known distribution by almost 200 km northwards. Another two sites, Lough Hyne, Co. Cork and Salt Lake, Clifden, Co. Galway both share similar characteristics with the area in Mulroy Bay in which it was discovered. All 3 sites are sheltered deep (> 30 m) water marine inlets on Atlantic coasts, with a small tidal amplitude of approximately 1 m.
