Abstract: A short note on the extensive grazing of the prosobranch snail Lacuna vincta on the kelp Alaria esculenta. This was observed on flotation sections of a salmonid farm at Corntullagh Head in Donegal Bay. The occurrence of L. vincta elsewhere is also briefly discussed.
