Abstract: This paper reports on the ostracod Redekea perpusilla recently found in Lough Hyne, Co. Cork. It was present in samples of wood infested with gribbles intertidally, as well as subtidally. This is the first finding in Ireland or the British Isles as a whole. A detailed description is given for the species.
