Abstract: Paper describes a small population of crawfish (Palinurus mauritanicus) which was caught by trawl as a bycatch, close to where Selbie (1914) secured his specimen (the first to be captured in Irish waters; it was at 400 m off the west coast). Catches were made in areas of undulating sand waves of about 2 m amplitude. Results indicate that there may be an established population in this area.
