Abstract: First inshore account of the siphonophore Apolemia uvaria off the southern side of Bantry Bay. Colonial siphonophores (and likely the same species) up to 6 m in length but usually 1 - 2 m were commonly seen from the old Head of Kinsale, Co. Cork to Caherdaniel, Co. Kerry. In addition, strandings of fauna on the south-west coast are listed.
