Abstract: Describes first recorded stranding and first inshore record around Ireland for Phronima sedentaria, a bathypelagic hyperiid amphipod, on the western shoreline of Inch beach, Co. Kerry during a strong westerly wind in October 1985. Further distribution is discussed in addition to historical collections.
