Abstract: A short report on the fourth record of the barrel-fish Hyperoglyphe perciforma from within the 183 m (100 fathom) line and the most northerly record in Irish waters to date (as of 1986). Specimen was caught in a surface drift net, 8 km off Achill Head, Co. Mayo. Measurements are given as well as the first record and some notes on its distribution and ecology.
