Abstract: Paper lists 87 species of intertidal fauna found on Aughinish Island in the Shannon estuary. The species list is not exhaustive but includes mud-dwelling macrofaunal species appearing in monthly core samples (85 square cm x 10 cm; 1mm mesh), bentho-pelagic species collected in monthly sweep net samples taken at low water (Spring tides) and those species observed during cursory visits to the fucoid dominated rocky shore at Poularone Creek. The species list includes habitats.
