Abstract: Paper gives the results of a survey carried out in 1979 to check on the numbers of breeding herds of the common seal Phoca vitulina vitulina found in a 1978 survey and recheck certain areas which were not adequately covered due to inclement weather. The survey covered the west and northwest of Ireland.
