Abstract: This paper summarizes the results of the preliminary survey of Lady's Island Lake, a shallow, brackish water lagoon situated some 3 km west of Carnsore Point, Co. Wexford. Faunal records for the period March 1976 - December 1979 are also presented. Historical data on the lagoon are given. Data are also provided for: variation in water level, salinity, substratum, macrophytes, phytoplankton and fauna. The fauna were divided into zooplankton, benthic macrofauna, meiofauna and epibenthic, epiphytic and pelagic fauna of shallow water as well as fish. Species notes are provided also.
