Abstract: During an investigation of the marine benthic macrofauna in and adjacent to Kinsale Harbour, on the south coast of Ireland, a capitellid polychaete, Peresiella clymenoides, new to Ireland and Great Britain was recorded. Some historical information on its taxonomic placement is given. A detailed description of the polychaete is provided. Some brief notes on its distribution and ecology are also given.
