Abstract: This paper reports on reproductive development of saddle oysters, Pododesmus (= Monia) patelliformis and Anomia ephippium using histological preparation of reproductive tissue. Animals were collected from Ballyhenry Point and Greyabbey Bay on the eastern shores of Strangford Lough at approximately monthly intervals from small boulders or exposed bedrock at extreme low water spring tides.
