Abstract: This paper describes the changes in structure and composition of a shallow subtidal community in North Bay (inner Galway Bay), west coast of Ireland, over a study period of one year. Samples were conducted monthly with a 0.1 metre squared van Veen grab at a depth of 4 m. Species diversity, evenness and richness were calculated for each faunal sample. A total of 85 species was recorded over the sampling period.
