Abstract: Until recently only two marine members of the phylum Tardigrada were known to occur in Ireland. Echiniscoides sigismundi was found among sediment washed from sea-weeds under Achill Bridge, Co. Mayo and in intertidal barnacles from various sites around the Irish coast. The interstitial species Batillipes mirus was recorded in sand from Strangford Lough, Co. Down. In recent surveys of beaches in counties Galway, Mayo and Wicklow additional records of Irish marine Tardigrada have been obtained. The data are presented here.
