Abstract: A short note on specimens of Gracilaria foliifera (now known as G. multipartita) living as unattached fronds in the lobster ponds at Cleggan, Co. Galway. They are quite abundant at the site but have not been found on other shores in the area. This species has not previously been recorded from the Irish coast.
