Abstract: A short note on the recording since 1974 of the apodous holothurian Leptosynapta bergensis from a number of localities on the west coast of Ireland from Killary Harbour south to Inner Galway Bay. This species was not recorded here previously or from other localities and is probably due to the difficulty in identifying. The animals were found in muddy sand deposits (c. 60% silt/clay) with an animal assemblage approximating a Peterson -type Amphiura - Echinocardium type.
