Abstract: The pteropod Spiratella retroversa is a planktonic gastropod occurring commonly in the open Atlantic. Numerous shells of this species along with 25 other molluscan species and floats of the hydroid Velella velella were found along the strand line of a beach by the forest of Ards, between Cashelmore and Dunfanaghy, west Donegal.
