Abstract: In this paper three distinct populations of large saddle-oysters from the family Anomiidae from Strangford Lough are described. Random collections were made at each of the three following locations: low intertidal at Ballywhite Bay (approx. 1.5 miles northwest of Portaferry), Greyabbey Bay on the eastern shore and from the dense subtidal Modiolus beds offshore. Shell dimensions and weight (with and without tissues) were recorded. Sex was recorded where possible. Several ratios were calculated. The three populations were then compared.
