Abstract: Paper presents annotated (location, habitat, brief description, and previous Irish records) species list of shore fishes from the Cork coast. During the winter of 1974-75 selected shores in the Cork Harbour area were examined. Specimens were collected by overturning stones, by hand-netting in rock pools and by treating pools with quinaldine to anaesthetize the resident fishes. Sixteen littoral fish species were collected from six sampling sites. Of these, three species are regarded as rare and/or local in distribution.
