Abstract: A short note on an exceptionally large specimen of the scallop Pecten maximus. The right valve of the scallop, thought to be taken by dredge from near Inisheer, Aran Islands was given to the author. Its measurements are given, including those of 'annual' rings and its habitat is speculated on.
