Abstract: Paper presents data (detailed morphometrics) on 200 specimens of ammotheids with 9 palp segments collected from the western region of the British Isles, the majority from South Wales, the Gower Peninsula and Pembrokeshire and the west coast of Ireland, Galway Bay. The ammotheids are marine arthropods usually referred to as sea-spiders. The only genus to be found in British waters is Achelia. The present study examines the validity of the two species Achelia longipes and A. hispida.
