Abstract: This paper reports on some of the relationships between oyster catchers Haematopus ostralegus and cockles Cardium edule at Greyabbey Bay, Strangford Lough. The relationships discussed here are the timing and location of feeding effort by the birds, their choice of prey size, and the extent of this predation in relation to total losses by the cockle populations.
