Abstract: Paper reports on the occurrence of the isopod parasite Bobyrus squillarium on the prawn Palaemon serratus from the Galway coast between 1969 and 1971. Samples taken by hand net on the shore and in wire traps sublittorally at Carna, Co. Galway and inner Galway Bay. 4500 and 1650 female and male (respectively) prawns were examined. Percent infection with respect to host size is presented, as is parasite size with respect to host size.
