Abstract: A short note on the isopod Cirolana borealis. Numerous specimens were found on spurdog, Squalus acanthius, and greater spotted dogfish, Scyliorhinus stellaris (73 and 23 respectively) caught on long lines in the North Sound of Galway Bay. They were confined to gill and cloacal regions. Other species were similarly infested including ling, cod, pollack, skate and tope.
