Abstract: Paper outlines a littoral and sublittoral survey of marine algae in county Wexford. Seaweeds were collected on the rocky promontories of the south coast, while the east coast was largely neglected since it is composed almost entirely of sand and shingle beaches which are unsuitable for the attachment of algae. Dominant plants and a general overview are presented. 235 species were found, however, identified species and new records for the county are only presented in algal classes with the complete list published elsewhere (Norton, T. A. 1970. Br. phycol J. 5).
