Abstract: Paper presents a summary of the principal points which emerged from the second Irish Sea Colloquium on recent research into the tectonic structure, and sedimentary and geomorphological history of the Irish Sea held in University College Dublin in December, 1965. The paper is divided into the following sections: (1) The older geological framework, (2) Superficial formations and geomorphology and (3) Geophysical investigations of the sea floor.
