Abstract: A short note on 'a very unusual abnormality' in a specimen of the thornback ray, Raia clavata, trawled off Co. Kerry. The abnormality consists of a fairly large high dorsal fin, concave on the right side and at rest, lying on the disc to the right side of the mid line. Measurements of the specimen are given.
