Abstract: Paper presents data on the distribution of Grey (Halichoerus grypus) and Common (Phoca vitulina) seals on the coasts of Ireland. Data were collected by direct observations during two consecutive autumns and reports by reliable observers. Data on minimum number of pups born and minimum number of older seals in local haul outs are presented for 56 sites for the Grey seal. The average size of a herd for the Common seal is presented for 32 sites.
