Abstract: A short note on the carnivorous isopod Cirolana cranchii found in Irish waters. Locally they are known as 'sea lice' or 'strippers' because of their habit of feeding on the lobster bait in large numbers. The specimens reported here were found while lobster fishing in Ballycotton Bay, Co. Cork.
