Abstract: A brief report on the occurrence of the sponge (Cliona celata) dwelling copepod Clionophilus vermicularis in Strangford Lough. During a dredge haul from a depth of about 15 m in Ballyhenry Bay, the sponge C. celata was found containing at least 7 specimens of C. vermicularis. This is the first published account of this copepod in Irish and British waters.
