Abstract: Paper reports on the finding of 'some shelly' fossils from Co. Down. The first account is of corals, crinoid ossicles and a brachiopod. It is the first recorded occurrence of their type from the Lower Palaeozoic greywackes suite in Northern Ireland. On Copeland Island, at the entrance to Belfast Lough, a good coral specimen was found. Further 'shelly' fossils are also discussed.
