Abstract: A brief paper on the capture, in a lobster pot on the north-west side of Bere Island, Bantry Bay, of a black example of the greater spotted dogfish or nursehound, Scyliorhinus stellaris. A note was made of this specimen because the ventral surface, which is usually a dirty greyish-white, was covered with a regular pattern of dark spots.
