Abstract: This paper discusses the analysis of data relating to benthic communities around the Atlantic coasts of Europe. Data characterization, manipulation and interpretation are dealt with. Inertia Methods are compared and evaluated, and Principle Coordinate Analysis using log-transformed time variables is selected as the optimal method.
