Abstract: Paper presents a species list and notes which were made during a general survey for the Industrial Research Council of the marine algae of the west and south coasts of Ireland. The distributions of many of the species discovered were outside their known range. This paper contributes to the knowledge of the geographical extent of some of the less common species of Irish algae.
