Abstract: The tube-worm Spirobis vitreus, an arctic form, seems absent in Wales and most of England but is generally abundant on the west coast of Scotland and in certain locations on the north coast of Ireland. These locations are listed. The tubes of the juvenile S. vitreus are very different from those of the adults.
