Abstract: Paper presents a 'broad outline of the information obtained' in an underwater survey of Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland carried out in 1972. The paper ended with two conclusions: 1) Ten benthic communities, some exhibiting different facies have been identified in Strangford Lough in depths between 10 and 50 m and 2) The communities in Strangford Lough can be closely correlated to substrate/water movement.
