Abstract: The paper outlines the discovery of Aplysia limacina in the British seas for the first time. The distribution of A. punctata, A. depilans and A. limacina around the Irish and British coasts is mapped. Aplysia punctata was the only one of the three species to be found on Irish coasts. Specimens were found in Belfast Lough and off the coasts of Dublin, Cork Harbour and North Galway.
