Abstract: This paper is the first comprehensive list of the marine decapods of counties Galway and Clare. It records 83 species, of which 8 are new to the area and 4 new to Ireland (Caridion steveni, Processa parva, Palaemon longirostris and Callianassa subterranea). Information on frequency and distribution of the species is given, and on the depth range and nature of the substrata. The frequency and seasonal occurrence of larvae and berried females is also recorded.
