Abstract: This brief communication presents the results of the Irish Beached Bird Survey for the period December 1979 to March 1980 inclusive. The survey covered the entire coastline of the Republic of Ireland. Results are presented regionally and trends in oil-related mortality are discussed with reference to winter temperatures.
