Abstract: Paper presents results of growth monitoring of Mytilus edulis at five stations in Carlingford Lough and two in Belfast Lough using annual growth rings. Variations in growth are discussed in relation to sea temperatures, breeding cycles, salinity, pollution and level on the shore.
