Abstract: Abstract only. Abstract describes a field experiment which simulated a farm escape of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). Survival, growth and juvenile migration were compared between native Atlantic salmon and salmon of Norwegian origin. Identification of progeny was by DNA profiling. Initial results showed farmed fish grew faster than native fish but survival was poorer.
